SJJA Frenchs Forest is proud to be part of one of Australia’s fastest-growing and most respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teams — a movement founded by Professor Bruno Almeida Alves, a world-renowned BJJ black belt under Zé Radiola of the ZR Team.

A multiple-time World, Pan American, European, and South American Champion, Bruno brought his vision and experience to Australia in 2011. Since then, his passion for excellence and community has helped SJJA become a benchmark in martial arts, with locations across Sydney and Melbourne — including Crows Nest, Brookvale, Gladesville, Ku-Ring-Gai, the Blue Mountains, Maroubra, Narrabeen, and now Frenchs Forest.
Bruno’s winning mindset, forged through years of elite-level competition, forms the backbone of the SJJA culture — one rooted in discipline, perseverance, humility, and family. In 2017, he launched the SJJA system, a school designed not only to produce champions on the mat but to build strong, resilient individuals off the mat.

At SJJA Frenchs Forest, students train under Professor Vincent Mollica, a respected black belt and one of Bruno’s closest students. Vincent has trained directly under Bruno since his arrival in Australia and brings both technical excellence and a deep understanding of the SJJA philosophy to the mats.
