 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been training with Professor Vince and the team at SJJA Frenchs Forest for a few months now, and I honestly can’t speak highly enough of the place.

My journey actually started with my younger son. I signed him up for the kids 9–12 program and spent plenty of time sitting on the side watching his classes. What stood out immediately was the culture Vince and the team have created. Everyone is welcoming, supportive and willing to help, regardless of your experience or ability. There’s a genuine sense of respect at the centre of everything they do.

Eventually, watching from the sidelines turned into me getting onto the mats myself. At first I trained on and off, but the more classes I attended, the more Jiu Jitsu started getting its hooks into me. Now I absolutely love training and find myself wanting to get on the mats whenever I can.

What makes it even better is that both my boys are now training. My 20-year-old son has joined the adult classes as well, so Jiu Jitsu has unexpectedly become something our family shares.

One of the biggest things I’ve noticed is the difference it has made to my boys. Their confidence has grown, but at the same time they seem calmer and more composed. There’s something pretty special about watching them develop that confidence, discipline and self-belief through training.

Professor Vince is an excellent teacher. He explains techniques clearly, takes the time to help you understand the details, and creates an environment where you can learn, challenge yourself and improve without ego.

What started as something for one of my sons has now become a journey for all three of us.

A huge thank you to Professor Vince, the coaches and everyone at SJJA Frenchs Forest for making us feel so welcome and for the environment you’ve created. We’re looking forward to continuing the journey with you all.

I am glad that SJJA Fenches Forest has opened and that Vince is back teaching. He is highly skilled and delivers technique clearly, easily and at a very high standard. Professor Vince is a truly fantastic coach. He is great at breaking techniques down in a way that’s both easy to understand and incredibly in-depth for the more advanced students.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned black belt he meets each student at their level, ensuring techniques are fully understood and catering advice to different body types and skill levels.

The overall gym environment is incredibly welcoming. Everyone knows each other’s names and will look out for one another during training. There are zero big egos on the mats.

The space itself is awesome too, it has modern spacious white mats that are always clean and get plenty of natural sunlight - which helps keep everyone healthy. As a bonus the building is well cooled during hot summer days.
